Unveiling of the Silver Jubilee Logo of Symbiosis Centre for Distance Learning
Pune – Symbiosis Centre for Distance Learning (SCDL), which has been doing remarkable work in the field of distance education, has completed 25 successful years. On this occasion, a special event was organized at the auditorium of Symbiosis Skills and Professional University, Kiwale, where the silver jubilee logo of SCDL was unveiled.
The unveiling was done at the hands of Muktangan De-addiction Centre Director Mukta Avachat Puntambekar, President of Symbiosis Open Education Society Dr. S. B. Mujumdar, and Principal Director of Symbiosis Open Education Society Dr. Swati Mujumdar.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Swati Mujumdar said, “Technology is going to play a crucial role in the future, especially in making education accessible in remote areas. It is because of this technology that we will be able to connect with remote regions. With this in mind, I envisioned creating a virtual global campus. Started in 2006 at Model Colony, Symbiosis Centre for Distance Learning has now become a Centre of Excellence. Due to the facilities we have provided, our distance learning program has become popular. This journey has completed 25 glorious years, but there is still a long way to go. We intend to continue this progress. Within the next two years, we plan to transform this into an open university, where students will be awarded degrees instead of diplomas.”
These 25 years have been a legacy of development, success, academic excellence, commitment, innovation, and transformation. A grand celebration of this legacy and the journey of education was held on this momentous occasion.
